About us
Yet the well-established flavours and aromas of pizza, salads and Lebanese food will not change, and hasn’t changed since Burnside Pizzeria opened their doors in 1991. It was then, Abe and Joanne opened a small, 850 sq. ft., Pizzeria on Ilsley Avenue in Burnside Industrial Park. Not knowing how to make pizza, Abe wanted to try something new with the help and support of his wife, Joanne. Their dreams of opening up a Pizzeria in a park that had only trees around it, came true when they eventually saw the lunchtime line-up out the door. Needing it to grow, they moved into larger quarters, expanding after White Juan in 2004 and today occupies 2,600 sq. ft. of sparkling space in a busy sector on the same street. A new name followed – Burnside Pizzeria Fresh Market. The biggest change in recent years has been the passing of the torch to their son, Andrew, who like his three older siblings, learned the trade almost from the time he could walk. When you bring up ‘Burnside Pizzeria’ to someone, these are some of the comments you will hear back: “They make the best pizza in town!” “Their Caesar salad is the best I have ever had!” “Have you tried their Donair Egg Rolls? They are addictive!” and lastly, “Abe, Joanne, and Andrew are great people. They know how to feed you!” Abe, Joanne, Andrew and the team at Burnside Pizzeria, welcome people into their restaurant as if they were coming into their home.
“We would like to say ‘Thank You’ to our customers who have been supporting us then and now. “- The Burnside Pizzeria Fresh Market Team
